80 Tornadoes Hit – Extreme weather in Indiana and Illinois

Sisi walks in the room.  There is a confused look on her face.  She asks me have I heard anything about the weather.

I throw a confused face back at her.

“It was cold yesterday, and hot and raining today… that’s the best I can do” I says.

“Well I just got a frantic call from one of my friends asking if we are ok” Sisi responds

Just moving from California to North Carolina only a couple weeks ago, we had forgotten we are no longer immune to weather emergencies like we were in Sacramento.

The fact that we never watch the news.. or TV in general for that matter.. doesn’t help at all.

So we are the last ones to find out there was somewhere around 80 tornadoes over the last 2 days!

In an attempt to share some of the footage and pictures… I think I broke the site.  Not sure what is happening below.. but I swear there is some news in there somewhere!

Batkid Saves Gotham City – San Francisco Comes Together To Grant Cancer Patients Wish In The Most Inspiring Way Ever

San Franciso is now Gotham City?

It was for this young boy in the most heartwarming display I have ever seen!

More than 12,000 supporters joined in to help Make a Wish Foundation grant 5 year old Miles Scott’s wish!

He spent the day chasing villains, meeting the mayor and police chief and even got a key to Gotham (San Francisco) City!

The San Francisco Chronicle put out a special “Gotham City Chronicle” edition with a front page article about Miles\’ exploits written by Clark Kent, the alter ego of Superman.”The whole city has focused on making this wish happen,” said Make a Wish spokeswoman Jen Wilson. “It has taken all of us by surprise.”The production, which involved recreating comic book action scenes in some of the city\’s busiest places, including Union Square and the AT&T Ballpark, used dozens of performers, production staff and hundreds of props.Wilson said the organization initially hoped to have a couple hundred people volunteer to be a part of the awards ceremony crowd. By Thursday night, over 12,000 people had RSVP\’d through the organization\’s website.

Mars and Moon Viewing – HOAX! Fake

Mars and Moon Viewing

Another ridicules Hoax!  There will be no viewing of Mars any time soon!  It’s actually at one of its furthest points right now!

Not sure what the point is, but I guess it’s supposed to be funny.

HA….. freakin…. HA

The Mars hoax, which started in 2004, was widely circulated on the Internet under the subject header “Mars Spectacular.” According to the email message, which was forwarded over and over and over to countless numbers of people, on the night of Aug. 27, Mars would make an incredibly close approach to the Earth. So close, that in the sky it would loom as large as a full moon!

The message reappeared every year, but apparently lost some steam after seven consecutive summers, and failed to turn up after 2010. Seemingly, the prank had run its course, but now it has reappeared on two new branches of social media: Facebook and Twitter.

Unfortunately not everyone got the memo yet

Cure Your Facebook Addiction With Electro-Therapy

Facebook shock therapyI can’t make this stuff up!

I wish I could!

That’s right. It has gotten bad.  So bad.  Facebook is ruining out lives.

Drastic time call for drastic measures!

The only way to stop us from spending so much time of Facebook is a new invention that will shock you when you are on the website!

Brilliant right?

Hmmm

What do you think

Facebook Shock Therapy

MIT PhD students Robert R. Morris and Dan McDuff have invented a device called Pavlov Poke that actually shocks the user’s wrist when he or she spends too much time on Facebook. Yup. Zap!

The name “Pavlov Poke” references Ivan Pavlov’s famous conditioning experiments with dogs and Facebook’s infamous “poke” feature. Clever name, indeed. McDuff says the shock is “unpleasant, but it’s not dangerous.” Whew, glad to know it won’t kill us.

The inventors admit their technology is meant to be humorous, but there’s no denying that Facebook can be a real time suck, overloading us with useless posts from friends and sometimes negatively affecting our self-esteem.

Morris and McDuff even filmed an infomercial explaining the device.

But if electric shock isn’t for you, the inventors created an alternative system: verbal abuse. Seriously. Someone will call and berate you — for a small fee, of course. It’s called Pavlov Poke (Phone Edition).
