It’s about unlimited advertising for their chosen candidate, not for campaign donations.

  1. As much as they want, unlimited, in funds for advertising.

Before this ruling, corporations had to funnel money through political action committees to pay for ads, with strict limits on what could be spent.

Now they do not have to funnel it, and have no limits on the amount. They still have to have disclaimers telling who is funding it, but they’ve always had that.

Edit to pdooma: And just what do you think campaign donations are used for? Housing? It’s all about the ads.

  2. No more directly to campaigns, but they can spend unlimited funds sponsoring their own political advertising

The ruling is a disgrace. Corporations are now unleashed to spend huge amounts of money advertising for candidates that are friendly to their interests.
