Tron Light Cycle rollercoaster video looks like a scene from the movie

Last year, we told you about the amazing new Tron-inspired rollercoaster planned for the Shanghai Disney Resort. But back then we only had concept drawings. Now the Lightcycle Power Run rollercoaster is finished and has started taking passengers, and the ride lives up to last year’s hype.

In a video posted on Sunday, a rider gives us a first-person point of view as the Tron rollercoaster whizzes through a maze of futuristic twists and turns. This might be as close as you’ll get (for now) to riding a real Tron light cycle in a similarly Tron-esque environment.

Is it worth taking a trip all the way to China? Watch the video (above) and judge for yourself.  Read more…

Don’t let a day pass without giving of yourself as you initiate love. Giving does not have to mean expensive. Extend your hand as you offer an encouraging word, prepare a favorite dish, or send a loving text ‘just because’.

Some people save their rumpled look for their spouse but give their best to everyone else. What a mistake! Take a moment, brush your hair, take off that stained t-shirt and put yourself together just like you used to when you first met. Show your loved one that you still care.

…..item 1)…. aish.com … Falling in love is the easy part. Here’s how to keep your love thriving. …

June 9, 2011 / 7 Sivan 5771

www.aish.com/f/m/5_Ways_to_Keep_Your_Love_Alive.html?utm_…

June is here and wedding music is in the air. As we share in ceremonies and watch couples embark on their life together, many tears are shed. I often wonder if perhaps some of us are crying for lost dreams of promised love as we recall our own chuppah moments.

Marriages that we thought would last forever somehow did not. And those that remain are often lacking.
Marriage takes hard work. Falling in love is the easy part; keeping the love alive is the challenge. Here are the five best ways to keep your love thriving.

— 1. BECOME A POSITIVE PERSON

Who wants to live with a miserable, negative spouse? It is frustrating to share life with one who always sees the downside. Sour faces and moodiness destroy the happy feeling that makes home a haven.
You can create joy by developing a positive eye and attitude. Begin by giving a smile to those you love, even if you don’t feel like it. I know this sounds small but you cannot imagine the impact your face has on others. Our sages teach us that greater than the white of milk is the nourishment we give from the white of teeth as we smile.

Love flourishes in a positive atmosphere. So try to stop complaining and see the good. You’ll find that your loved one reflects your new attitude and soon smiles right back at you.

— 2. NEVER SPEAK IN ANGER

If you feel the rage that means it is NOT the time to speak about what’s bothering you. When we speak in anger, our emotions take over. We say things we don’t mean and mean things we don’t say. We raise our voices and lose control. I have met too many couples who were seething and uttered words they came to painfully regret.

“That’s it. I’m outta here!” “I wish I’d never married you; what a mistake!” “Maybe we should just get a divorce!”

Though we try to explain ourselves later, (“I didn’t really mean it, I was just in a bad mood.") the damage was done and deep wounds remain.

— 3. BE A GIVER

‘Ahavah’ is the Hebrew word for love. It comes from the word ‘hav’, which means to give. The more we give, the more we love.

Too often we mistakenly believe that the more we get, the more we will come to love.

We assume that it is the gorgeous diamond ring, the expensive watch, or the latest tech toy we receive from our beloved that makes us feel special and adored. Sure it’s nice to get gifts. But that’s not what makes love last. It only feeds our desire to want more. We become takers instead of givers. We await the next gift; anticipate the ‘next thing’ that will make us happy. And as soon as we feel that we are not getting enough we become unhappy. Our ‘gimme more’ love begins to dim.

Make your love grow by investing in your relationship.

— 4. SEE THE WHOLE PERSON

It’s easy to get caught up in what annoys us and drives us mad.

“Why can’t he ever pick up after himself?”

“Why can’t she ever be on time?”

We are forgiving of ourselves when we mess up. We brush over our flaws and decide that overall, we are a pretty good person. Why not do the same with our spouse?

Think of three good qualities that you can find in your loved one. (If you can’t think of three, then you know where your homework lies.) The next time you find yourself concentrating on all those annoying habits, change gear. Fill your mind with the good qualities that make this person special. Don’t limit your sight to irritants or you will end up missing out on all the blessings.

— 5. STOP COMPARING

“How come they always get to go on vacation together?”

“Why does her husband buy her jewelry for their anniversary?”

“Why does his wife prepare gourmet dinners for him and look what I get every night?”

There is no poison like the poison of comparing lives. Others seem better off, more in love, happier, and having a better time together. The truth is you never know what is going on behind closed doors. Besides, maybe he buys her jewelry but she wishes he would spend more time with her and the kids, the way your husband does. And perhaps she does prepare gourmet meals but all he wants is an easy, no stressed dinner and good conversation, the way your wife does.

Comparing is never healthy. It eats away at our happiness and strips us of appreciation for that which we have. We become so busy looking at the lives of others we neglect to see all that we must be grateful for.

As we concentrate on those around us we believe that we are lacking. We grow resentful without realizing why and feel an undercurrent of unhappiness.

If I am able to create a life filled with cherished moments then even the most difficult days become doable because I have my best friend besides me. Together we can build. Together we can overcome. Hold onto your blessings and bring the magic of peace into your home.

And it goes both directions; if you introduce negative behaviors like criticism, demands, or contempt, your spouse will also definitely change…for the worse. So do something to become a better person, whether it is spending more time with your spouse, planning a weekly date night, dealing with others kindly, etc. And give and then give some more, without demands or expectations of anything in return.

Wake up maggie I think I got something to say to you
Its late september and I really should be back at school
I know I keep you amused but I feel Im being used
Oh maggie I couldnt have tried any more
You lured me away from home just to save you from being alone
You stole my heart and thats what really hurt

The morning sun when its in your face really shows your age
But that dont worry me none in my eyes youre everything
I laughed at all of your jokes my love you didnt need to coax
Oh, maggie I couldnt have tried any more
You lured me away from home, just to save you from being alone
You stole my soul and thats a pain I can do without

All I needed was a friend to lend a guiding hand
But you turned into a lover and
Mother what a lover, you wore me out
All you did was wreck my bed
And in the morning kick me in the head
Oh maggie I couldnt have tried anymore
You lured me away from home cause you didnt want to be alone
You stole my heart I couldnt leave you if I tried

I suppose I could collect my books and get on back to school
Or steal my daddys cue and make a living out of playing pool
Or find myself a rock and roll band that needs a helpin hand
Oh maggie I wish Id never seen your face
You made a first-class fool out of me
But Im as blind as a fool can be
You stole my heart but I love you anyway

Maggie I wish Id never seen your face
Ill get on back home one of these days

FATHER AND SON LYRICS – ROD STEWART

[Originally by Cat Stevens]

[Father]
It’s not time to make a change,
Just relax, take it easy.
You’re still young, that’s your fault,
There’s so much you have to know.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but I’m happy.

I was once like you are now, and I know that it’s not easy,
To be calm when you’ve found something going on.
But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything you’ve got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.

[Son]
How can I try to explain, when I do he turns away again.
It’s always been the same, same old story.
From the moment I could talk I was ordered to listen.
Now there’s a way and I know that I have to go away.
I know I have to go.

[Father]
It’s not time to make a change,
Just sit down, take it slowly.
You’re still young, that’s your fault,
There’s so much you have to go through.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but I’m happy.

[Son]
All the times that I cried, keeping all the things I knew inside,
It’s hard, but it’s harder to ignore it.
If they were right, I’d agree, but it’s them you know not me.
Now there’s a way and I know that I have to go away.
I know I have to go.

www.aish.com/f/m/5-Ways-to-Revitalize-Your-Marriage.html

Last year my husband and I had the luxury of taking a year off to travel the world, spend several months in Israel learning Torah and exploring our spirituality. This experience proved to be invaluable, not only because of the travel itself but because we had a chance to spend so much time together, learn together, grow together and focus on the relationship. Learning Torah while exploring the world and ourselves helped us to improve the vivacity, enthusiasm and passion in our relationship.

You don’t need to take a year off to revitalize your marriage. Everything we learned during our trip can be applied at home on an everyday basis. Here are five important points we learned that can strengthen your marriage.

—1. If You Want to Improve Your Marriage, Start with Yourself.

We tend to think that our marriage would be better if only our spouse would change some of his or her behaviors. “Why can’t she be more organized?” “Why can’t he help out more at home?” “Why can’t she stop spending so much?” Stop demanding things from your spouse. A marriage is a system. If you change one of the components, the whole system changes and reorganizes. If you change your behavior for the better you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see that your spouse will eventually respond to the change in a positive way.

— 2. Make Your Marriage a Priority.

A large percentage of divorces are unnecessary. You can really love the one you’re with if you put your heart and energy into it. The “growing apart” phenomenon can be remedied and avoided if you make your marriage your priority with the willingness to constantly invest in it. The more you invest, the more you love. In actuality, your spouse should come even before your children. If the couple is doing well, the children will be just fine. Take time to be together, stay in touch during the day, surprise each other, tell your wife that you love her, be grateful to your husband, go out just the two of you, take up an activity together and learn Torah. It will definitely make a difference.

— 3. You and Your Spouse are One Being.

When the first human was created, he was comprised of two sides, the male and female; Adam and Eve were one. Once separated, man and woman become two different entities but nevertheless they crave for that oneness that experienced at the very beginning.

When a couple gets married, the couple becomes something more than the sum of its parts. There is a union that is not him plus her but goes beyond – it’s a third identity, it becomes one. If we can really understand this, then we realize that there is no room for many of the destructive interactions that couples go through. Every time that we criticize each other, yell, put down, or lie to our spouse, we are hurting ourselves; it’s like self-inflicted pain. Whenever we complain and think about our needs and what we want from this relationship without taking into account the needs of our spouse, we are creating a void. It’s like feeding only half of our body and letting the other half starve. When we solve our conflicts by separating, distancing or divorcing, we are cutting off our limbs. It’s that painful.

A couple is not a team working together but one body and soul, one system. That’s why the pain of my spouse is my pain; his or her happiness is my happiness.

— 4. Protect Your Marriage.

Adam and Eve were the only two people in the world; they had no other choices. Therefore, they had to put their best effort and energy toward making the relationship work. They had to be committed to each other. Nowadays, we are exposed to too many people (whether it’s in person or online) and a big challenge that couples face is the lack of boundaries. People are constantly comparing their spouses with other men and women in the outside world. The possibility of being with someone else becomes an option. There is too much mingling between men and women. We are constantly exposed to images of the perfect couple: more beautiful, more romantic, and more successful. Also, we are bombarded with messages about fulfilling one’s needs at the expense of everyone else’s.

In order to preserve our marriage, we need to create very firm boundaries, erect thick walls that keep the marriage separate from others and safe. This provides the marriage with an intimate space to develop that no one can trespass.

Click here to receive Aish.com’s free weekly email.

— 5. Give Up on the Right to be Right.

The cost of “being right” or “winning” is often a decrease in love and closeness. In order to prove that we are correct and our spouse is wrong, we argue, we lecture, we sometimes become arrogant and even hurt feelings. The benefit of “winning” and proving that we are right is not worth the cost. We might prevail at the expense of deteriorating our relationship. So refrain from the urge of correcting everything that your spouse says or does. Shalom bayit, domestic harmony, is more important than being right.

Try putting these tips to good use and notice just how much your marriage improves.

What do model train sets and women’s breasts have in common?

Well, both are intended for children, but it’s the fathers that always end up playing with them.

They are nature’s original milk jugs. Mounds of flesh that come in varying shapes and sizes and can be dressed in an endless array of fabrics and designs. They are breasts, and while their design is purely utilitarian, they have been worshipped by cultures around the world since the dawn of time. Whether you know them as sweater kittens, air bags or blouse bunnies, there’s no debating that female breasts have an unusually prominent place in our society. What is the root of men’s double-D-sized fixation? The answers might surprise you.

—– Men find breasts calming

In a linear world full of hard edges and harder realities, breasts are soft, welcoming and nonthreatening (kind of like Al Roker). With their obvious connection to breastfeeding, and by extension childhood, breasts remind us of our halcyon days when our mothers protected us from all the world’s evils.

—– Breasts are a symbol of fertility

A-cup or Z-cup, breasts define femininity in the same way that channel surfing and participating in fantasy sports leagues define masculinity. Breasts hint at a woman’s ability to nurture and sustain life. They also point to a woman’s capacity to breed, as they signal the onset of puberty. It’s for this reason that we can find Pamela Anderson’s breasts alluring while we can be disgusted by Ned Beatty’s floppy man tits in Deliverance (sorry Ned).

—– It’s a matter of natural selection

According to Charles Darwin and his theory of evolution, we subconsciously select partners who are healthy and appear capable of reproduction ‑- all of which explains why the frail Darwin had so much time to write books rather than go out on dates.

According to his research, men are attracted to bazooms (especially the more shapely variety) because they are indicative of a strong constitution and an ability to further propagate the species. Although reproduction is no longer our top priority, this instinct remains despite centuries of evolution (much like our own nipples).

—– Breasts are key in arousing women

Any good lover knows that a woman’s breasts are closely connected to her primary libidinal zone. Therefore, another reason we like breasts is that we know if we handle these bikini stuffers properly, we can bring women to a state of heightened sexual arousal. Failing that, we can at least tell our friends we managed to get to second base.

—– Breasts are a home entertainment center

Who among us hasn’t used a woman’s breasts to play an engaging game of "Tune In to Tokyo"? More than just a milk delivery system, breasts are also a world of entertainment right at your fingertips. Let’s face it: There’s a reason why they’re commonly known as "fun bags."

—– Men are stimulated visually

Unlike women, who can be aroused by reading a single passage in a Harlequin romance novel, men require visual stimulation. It’s hardly surprising then that breasts, raised and perky as they often are, receive our obsessive attention. After all, apart from genitalia, breasts are a woman’s most well-defined physical feature ‑- just ask Dolly Parton. Better yet, ask her bra salesman.

—– Societal pressure

Clearly, it’s not all a matter of biology, particularly when you consider that humans are the only animals who include breast fondling as part of the mating process. Then again, we’re also the only animals who use nipple clamps and sex swings, so perhaps comparing ourselves to other species is a bit rash. Therefore, let’s turn our attention to society.

One of the primary reasons we’re breast obsessed is because society, and in particular Madison Avenue, encourages our fixation. Pick up any magazine, from Shape to even YM, and you’re bound to see more cleavage than in the Grand Canyon. The same is true of bus ads, fashion catalogs and every other manner of marketing material.

Breasts have spawned not only their own film and plastic surgery industries, but also their own restaurant chain (take that, testicles!). If advertising is powerful enough to make millions of people buy Pet Rocks, it’s little wonder that it has the ability to keep knockers in our thoughts 24 hours a day.

—– Breasts have the allure of taboo

The erotic allure of breasts is further heightened by the fact these "glands for the hands" are supposed to be kept under wraps and away from view. As Jerry Seinfeld so adroitly pointed out, if women kept their heads covered instead of their breasts, we’d all be heading down to the corner store to pick up the latest copy of Heads Illustrated. We always want that which we cannot have, and in that regard, breasts are the ultimate forbidden fruit.

—– Keeping abreast of the issues

Men are often accused of speaking to a woman’s chest rather than her face, but are we really to blame? Our attraction to these "prisoners of the Playtex penitentiary" is simultaneously physical, psychological and societal. Therefore, go out and celebrate the breast. In fact, go out and celebrate a pair of them. You’d be a boob not to.
