Now that watching video is one of biggest uses of the web, the speed of your connection has never been more important. 

To that end, Netflix, one of the primary sources of what the entertainment industry calls over the top (OTT) content, launched a tool on Wednesday that lets you test your Internet speed.

This isn’t any old website. The company cleverly managed to snag the most appropriate domain out there: Fast.com. That’s one of the best domain names — for any service — you could possibly have.

Netflix Nabs 3 Nominations for TCA Awards

In only its second year competing for award recognition from the Television Critics Association, Netflix has snagged three nominations for the 30th TCA Awards.

Netflix’s comedic prison comedy Orange Is the New Black earned nods for Program of the Year and Outstanding New Program for its inaugural season, while season two of political thriller House of Cards nabbed an Outstanding Achievement in Drama nomination.

Orange Is the New Black, whose sophomore season will debut in full on June 6, ended 2013 as Netflix’s most-watched original series ever. Meanwhile, Taylor Schilling’s portrayal of imprisoned lead character Piper earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Drama, though she lost to Robin Wright of House of Cards. Netflix Crushes Its Earnings But Issues a Warning

The good times keep on rolling for Netflix, but the company sees storm clouds ahead.

Netflix announced earnings on Wednesday that beat expectations for both subscriber additions and earnings per share. Investors were cheered by the results, with Netflix shares rising more than 17% in after-hours trading.

Revenue was reported at $ 1.18 billion, just above estimates, while profit for the company easily beat estimates. Earnings per share of $ 0.79 topped analyst expectations of $ 0.66.
