Bonnie Johnson takes the term “non-traditional college student” to a whole new level.

Like many Americans, Johnson had a dream of obtaining a college degree. But unlike so many of the Kennesaw State University graduates crossing the stage this morning, Johnson’s dream wasn’t achieved in a linear, four-year-long fashion.

In fact, realizing her goal took more than three decades. Johnson began pursuing a degree in business administration in 1983. Before she was able to graduate, however, life threw her more than a couple curveballs.

With two premature children born with special needs, Johnson found her academic interests took a backseat to caring for her children Read more…

This man’s Twitter joke about making a soccer game escalated hilariously

Kickmen_football_game

LONDON — There are plenty of football games in this world made by people who know a lot about the sport, but there’s always been a tragic shortage of football games made by people without a clue.

Until now, that is.

British game developer Dan Marshall — a man with a self-proclaimed lack of interest in football — has turned a simple Twitter joke into an actual working football game.

It all started in early April.

Things quickly escalated from there.

As the weeks progressed, Kickmen was born.

Soon there was even a trailer.

At this stage, Marshall is on to the finer details.

“I have no interest whatsoever in football, it passes me by completely,” Marshall told Mashable. “I’ve picked up some bits and bobs over the years because, well, I’m not a complete idiot, but I’m being gleefully flippant with what I know in order to make the game better.” Read more…

This homemade hoverbike is the future of personal aviation

Sddefault

Feed-twFeed-fb

The Internet’s favorite crazy inventor has created a rideable hoverbike, and while it doesn’t go much higher than a couple feet, it’s a pretty innovative creation.

YouTuber Colin Furze, famous for his homemade Wolverine claws, jet-powered bicycle and recent thermite launcher, embarked on his first-ever flying project as requested by fans. He created the hoverbike, a seatless, brake-less contraption powered by two motorized propellers in place of wheels. He only shows it off in short bursts, so you probably can’t fly it down to your local store to buy bread.

I’m just a beginner, don’t think this is ridiculous if you’re a nonbeliever. How does one manifest?

Question by Teto Kasane: I’m just a beginner, don’t think this is ridiculous if you’re a nonbeliever. How does one manifest?
I have never manifested anything before in my life, but I am confident that I can do it. I should start with little things, shouldn’t I, and then get bigger? Is it possible to manifest living things? What should I do right before a manifestation?
If you don’t believe in manifestation, please move along, I don’t want any negative feedback.

Fire and Holy Ghost means knowledge and understanding.

Fire – knowledge of the gospel teaching of Jesus ONLY.
Holy Ghost – understanding of the gospel teaching of Jesus ONLY.

knowledge + understanding = wisdom.

wisdom is power.

However the Holy Ghost does have unlimited other functions.

Is Dr. Deepak Chopra living on this earth, or a parallel universe where catch phrases alone save the world?

Question by azheelshock: Is Dr. Deepak Chopra living on this earth, or a parallel universe where catch phrases alone save the world?
I know I’m not alone in thinking Deepak Chopra’s ideas are akin to felt pictures of Unicorns.
In skepticism we have two canonical sayings: “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence” and “Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brains fall out.” – Michael Shermer

Catch phrases? Yes, but science is evidence. Chopra makes “quantum” claims with no intention to prove them with evidence.

An open mind doesn’t make you an “advanced” thinker. And, no, I wouldn’t let him operate on my brain.

Best answer:

Answer by cK
Sadly, it’s neither. He lives in a parallel universe in which catch phrases are meant to save the world yet an intergallactic disturbance has rendered them as impotent as a dead dog metaphor.

Great silences follow. Dogs bark in the distance. It’s a frightening place, yet they keep trying.
