Brush your teeth - Save your life

I bet you never would have thought something so simple could have such a profound impact on your life.
Everything matters if you choose to see….

Make every minute count
“There was a lot of waking up at 3 am with thoughts” he had to write down, Justus said. Justus’ advice is that each of us try to spend the 1440 minutes in each day in meaningful ways. It’s good advice. Don’t just get through the day; live it.

To find happiness, the doctor says, mind your minutes.
Peter Justus discovered he could find happiness just cleaning his teeth.

how to manage your time photoThe experience affected him so deeply he wrote a book about it. I read it because I’d been immersing myself in news so discouraging that any respite looked welcome, especially a road map to happiness.
It’s his take on a very old subject. My take on his take: Time is short; don’t just get through what you are doing now, but focus on it and do it well. It gives us pleasure to learn new things and to get better at doing whatever we are doing. Connections to
other people are paramount. Being a good person is important; having more stuff isn’t.

Why Being Unreasonable Is Food For Your Soul

how being unreasonable is good for the soul pictureYou have been “safe” your whole life!
You have been playing by the rules.  You have been doing everything you have been told you are “supposed” to be doing.
You have made friends with the right people.  You have gone to the right schools.  You even got the “right” job.
Yet, you yearn for something more.
If you have been following all the rules, why do you feel like something is still missing?
Maybe it is time to shake things up!

Why being unreasonable will open your soul

Unreasonable action leads to being remarkable. ~ Owen Marcus

If this were my last chance to share something with the world, I would encourage everyone to be unreasonable – be instigators of change!
You’ve been a good person, you’ve given of yourself, and you’ve done the right thing – most of the time. You have lived your life by others’ rules, those rules that you were taught as a child, those rules you taught to others.
But what one rule have you always wanted to break? I’m not talking about laws, or morality. I don’t mean robbing a bank or cheating on your spouse. What is that thing that you wanted to do that you were told you shouldn’t?
Like quitting a job you hate that “has great benefits”. Starting your own company in a field that everyone says is “too risky”. Deciding to perform the songs you wrote LIVE in front of an open-mic audience. Selling your house and moving to the Bahamas because it sounds like fun. What rule would not hurt anyone – but would be “wrong” to do?

Top 10 Ways To Piss Everybody Off

Most people are aware of the term “Hater”.  But if you are not here are a few definitions from  the URBAN DICTIONARY   pissed off hater pic

1.A person that simply cannot be happy for another person’s success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person.Hating, the result of being a hater, is not exactly jealousy. The hater doesnt really want to be the person he or she hates, rather the hater wants to knock somelse down a notch.
Susan: You know, Kevin from accounting is doing very well. He just bought a house in a very nice part of town.Jane (hater): If he is doing so well why does he drive that ’89
Taurus?
2.  A person who feels anger and/or jealousy for someone who has succeeded in something they have worked hard for. A being who speaks badly,and/or takes negative actions in attempt to create problems for a successful person.
3.A label applied to people who are more negative than positive when discussing another person. It most commonly refers to individuals whose negativity is so extreme that it is all-consuming. However, there are various levels and forms of being a hater, ranging from completely dismissing any positive traits or actions, to merely painting a less than flattering picture by using words with negative connotations. Hating is often attributed to jealousy, but just as often, it seems to stem from some other source.

Katt Williams on Haters – Who are they and how do we piss them off?

[jwplayer config=”Custom Player” mediaid=”1910″]
Summary:  Basically someone who is angered by your success.
How can this apply to you?
The strategy I am about to teach you should be used if you are:
  • Angry and looking to get revenge on anyone
  • In the mood to piss someone off
  • Looking to prove nay-sayers wrong
  • About to go to some sort of reunion
  • Currently unemployed from being fired
  • Having your home foreclosed
  • and so much more

The best way to achieve any of these things or something similar is simply become successful. Traditional “methods” of getting back at someone may feel good at first but once it is all over, you realize you actually do not feel any better about the whole situation. The main goal is just to feel better, right? Well if you are a success not only will you get the self gratification of anything from the above list but you will also have improved your life and hopefully made a lasting change. Here is the short version of the well thought out list from A Daring Adventure

10 Things Successful People Do That Make Them Successful

Want the shortcut to happiness? Buy it!

People who say that you cannot buy happiness are either clinically depressed or they are trying to keep all the goodness to themselves.
SELFISH BASTARDS!
When you have lots of money you will still have problems…. they are just the types of problems most of us would be glad to have  like:laying by the pool to buy happiness

  • Trying decide between Boca Raton or Europe for a weekend getaway
  • Whether to drive the Jag or the Ferrari because of parking at the restuarant
  • If you should send your kids to Harvard business school or Princeton

I, for one, would love to have these kinds of problems.
The problem is we are shopping in the wrong places when attempt to “buy” happiness:

The Rich Know How to Buy Happiness (Do You?)

In the modern $1.4-trillion luxury economy, bling is out, and high-priced adventures are in.
So says a new report from the consultants at BCG, which explores the lifestyle habits of the world’s wealthy based on interviews with roughly 1,000 affluent individuals. Cartier jewelry, Hermes handbags, and Tourneau watches are being eclipsed by exclusive getaways to the Maldives and helicopter skiing vacations in Alaska (which, in case you’re interested, you can book for about$5,750-a-person, all inclusive). Spending on those sorts of mind-bendingly expensive experiences now accounts for more than half of the luxury market and is growing more than 50 percent faster than sales of luxury goods.
